*Kevin Garvey- Kevin started dancing at the age of 4 at
Dotty’s. While in High School he was accepted into the Pennsylvania's Governor's School for the Arts as a dance major. Kevin then graduated from Point Park University where he received a BA in
Dance with a concentration in Jazz. Kevin has worked with such companies as Gary
Musick Productions, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Minnie Madden Productions, Chicago's Hubbard Street (while in college), Neil Goldberg’s Cirque
Productions, as well as performing with Recording Artist Amy Grant. Since 2006
Kevin has been working as a Dancer for Norwegian Cruise Lines. Most recently he
was Production Company Manager on one of NCL’s newest ships The Gem. He has
been teaching dance at DMD since 2000 and is also a member of Dance Masters of
America. Kevin’s Choreography has won numerous awards at state and nationals competitions and has been featured on
Norwegian Cruise Lines.
*Melissa Biddle- Melissa started studying with Dotty in 1975, and has
been teaching at the studio for 32 years. In addition to teaching &
choreography, she designs the annual Recital T shirts, stage decorations,
and assists with costume embellishment. Winner of the Dance Masters Chapter
10 Small Line Choreography Award in 2007, her routines and students have
received awards in numerous competitions over the years, including the title of
Mr. Dance of Pennsylvania. She's a member of Dance Masters of America, certified
to teach both Acrobatics and Jazz, and is firmly convinced that Dotty forgets
more about dance in a single day than she will ever know.
Polly Lindh- Polly was a student of DMD starting at age 5. She
graduated from Westminster College in 1993 and taught elementary school for 13
years. She has been teaching tap at the studio for ten years. One of her competition classes received the overall tap award at the 2011 Dance Masters of PA Performing Arts Competition.
**Ashley Hazy- Ashley has been a part of our staff for 8 years. Prior to that she was a student for 10 years. Ashley has completed her first year of Teachers Training School through Dance Masters of America. She is a member of the Cecchetti Council of America and has been tested and certified to teach through Grade IV of the Cecchetti System.
Carly Hazy Stillwagon- Carly was a student
at DMD for 15 years. While in High School Carly had the privilege of working
with award Winning tap choreographer Justin Miles who was on tour with both Tap
Dogs and Stomp. Carly Graduated from SRU in 2010 and has been teaching tap at
Dotty’s for 6 years.
Maria Bellizia- Maria started dance at DMD in first grade. Her only reason for wanting to dance was to get a tutu, which she still has never had. Maria fell in love with tap from the start. Maria has been teaching off and on since high school, depending on where she was living at the time, but she has been steady at the studio for the past 5 years.
Anna Beech- was a student of DMD starting at age 5. She graduated from the University of Kentucky in December 2009 with a psychology degree and is currently a graduate student at California University of Pennsylvania for school psychology. She has been teaching at the studio for 7 years. Her class, Trouble, won first overall and $100 for the studio at the KAR competition.
Mary Kaup- daughter of Paul and
Pamela Grisnik began dance with Dotty McGill’s School of dance at age 8.
Mary continued her study of dance through her senior year of high school.
While at Dotty’s Mary competed in Dance Masters of Pennsylvania’s Junior,
Teen, and Miss Dance competitions. Mary also taught while dancing and
competing at the studio. Today, Mary is a pharmacist at RxXpress Pharmacy
but continues to show her passion of dance by mentoring and teaching young
dancers at Dotty’s School of Dance.
Kendall Garczewski– Kendall has been dancing since she was 4 and has been teaching dance since she was 15. She is a 2007 graduate of Slippery Rock University where she studied elementary education and dance. Kendall currently works at Lakeview School District as a Title I Reading Teacher in the middle school. She is also working towards a Masters of Reading Degree from Edinboro University. She has taught at dance studios in New Castle, Youngstown, and Ellwood City ranging from all ages in ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, and hip hop. She is so happy her experiences brought her to Dotty’s teaching all levels of hip hop.
